The back of the club, mackin hoes, my crew’s behind me
Mad question askin, [pint] passin, music blastin
But I just can’t quit
Because one of these honies [CTMQ] gots ta creep with
[Speak] with, keep the ep a secret why not
Why blow up my spot cause we both got hot
Now check it, I got more Mack than Craig and in the bed
Believe me sweety I got enough to feed the needy
No need to be greedy I got mad friends with [Subie]‘s
[Singles] by the layers, true [flippin] players
Jump in the [Outback] and come over
tell your friends jump in the [Impreza], I got the [Julius] by the tree[house]

(I love it when you call me Big Hop-py)
Throw your hands in the air, if youse a true player
(I love it when you call me Big Hop-py)
To the honies gettin money plain [ding-dongs] like dummies
(I love it when you call me Big Hop-py)
If you got a [bottle] up in your waist please [do share with] the place
Cause I see some ladies tonight who should be havin my home-brew

Cambridge House Beer Company says:

“A new benchmark of the IPA style begins right here in Connecticut with Big Hoppy! This beer has won numerous medals including the gold at the Great International Beer Festival in Rhode Island.

Big flavor and a big hop profile – the hop influences come into play throughout the experience of this beer. Big Hoppy is a big IPA that is bold and assertive as well as full of flavor and aroma.”

………………………

Y’know, this beer isn’t (wasn’t – I guess, since I think this contracted beer’s contractee is no longer in this business in late 2014) too bad. But for them to say, “A new benchmark of the IPA style begins right here in Connecticut” is a little bit goofy, what with NEBCO and Beer’d in the state. Two breweries who make some of the best double IPA’s in the freaking world.

And “the hop influences come into play throughout the experience of this beer.” Yeah. It’s a double IPA, dude. This sort of should go without saying.

Unfortunately, the hops were hidden behind too much caramelly malty sweetness. This is not what I’d expect from a DIPA at all – and I had a very fresh bottle. Now, if you find a bottle of this stuff in mid-to-late 2014 and beyond then it will be pretty terrible. And since it seems like the CH Beer Company has liquidated their overstock, I wouldn’t be surprised if you find a dusty old bottle somewhere. Good luck with that.
