Newington’s Town Trails
Newington’s “Other Trails”
No one ever thinks about Newington. Not even me, even though I’m often as close as two minutes away from it when I am in Elmwood. Well, that used to be me, until the town voted for one Mr. Stephen Woods for mayor. Although he has an extra ‘s’ on his name, I still feel a kinship with him.
When I wrote about the town’s “claim to fame,” that of having the “smallest waterfall in the state,” the town’s Democrats followed me on Twitter and we had some fun. Anyway, those falls are part of the town’s well-crafted online hiking/trail pages. Granted, some of the “hikes” are weird walks down sidewalks, but since I don’t have to do all – or any – of the hikes on these never-read basements pages, no one cares.
