X. Trains, Trolleys, Planes, Boats, Ferries & Lighthouses

Planes, trains, ferries and lighthouses – they’re all here. Some of this stuff is essentially museum-quality, but happens to be mobile and outdoors. (A couple lighthouses ARE museums, and others are open to visitors on rare occasions. I’ll find those occasions, of course.)

Trains & Trolleys

Trains are pretty cool. Real trains, historic trains, old train stations, model trains… and we have an abundance of train “stuff” here in Connecticut. I’ve met a lot of “rail fans,” as they call themselves in the state. So, as a service to them – and to parents of kids who love trains (like me), I’ve compiled a list of “Everything Train” in Connecticut.

All things Trains and Trolleys

Lighthouses

I’d like to visit ALL of Connecticut’s lighthouses for this section. Yes, even the ones I can’t enter. Gotta be complete, y’know? For those I can ascend, there will be links over to my Observation Towers and Views section for the stories of my brave ascents. The pages in this section will more or less just give you the wonderful accounts from Lighthouse Friends. Make sense? No? Just follow the links and enjoy the dang lighthouses, ok?
