Foraging and Cooking Adventures

I don’t really harbor ideas of hunting game, dressing it and cooking it. Or even attending those infernal game dinners I’m always invited to. But I could see me catching some fat bullfrogs and frying up their legs someday. More likely, though, this section will contain mostly the various plants and fungi I find on my hikes.

We’ll see.

Hello – I encourage you to join us for the “Foraging at Fisher Meadows” walk I’ll be leading this spring in Avon, CT. Details will be posted on the web pages of the two co-sponsorsm, the New England Eild Flower Society (http://www.newfs.org) and the Farmington River Watershed Association. You’ll learn (among many other things) the right way to identify fiddleheads and prepare them for safe and delicious eating.
