No one can say the folks at Half Full aren’t in this craft beer thing for anything but the love of being in this craft beer thing. They started up their brewery the right way and the positive messaging in their packaging and social media outlets is always nice to see. The brewery itself is quite far away from me in Stamford, so I can’t pretend to have developed a relationship with the crew down there or have a large sample from their taps.

And they seem to have some very creative offerings from their taps: Peanut Butter Hefe, Grapefruit Pale Ale, Rum Porter, Oyster Stout have all been available on what Half Full calls their “rare beer nights.” Again, Getting to Stamford on a weeknight from West Hartford with a job and family just isn’t going to happen… ever. Probably.

Wait – Peanut Butter Hefe? I’m sorry… that can’t have been good, could it have been?

But as we near the end of 2014, I’ve come to a comfortable conclusion that “drinking every Connecticut beer” is just a ridiculous mission. Now, it wasn’t at all three years ago when I set out on it, of course, but the explosion of breweries around the state has changed all that.

Still, I try. For breweries like Half Full, I will certainly try to have all the stuff they distribute in cans and to bars. I think I’ve captured them at the top, but I’m not sure. I keep tabs on what they’re doing down in Stamford and shall do my best to keep up.

Did you know their head brewer is a woman? For that reason alone I support them and wish them all the best. But as longtime CTMQ Beer Review readers know… I review each beer on its own merits and nothing more.
